Innegra Infused i2 Technology\u2122<\/h4>\n

In 2019, Black Atlantic introduced an innegra cloth into our board construction options with i2 Technology. Standing for I<\/strong>nnegra I<\/strong>nfused (i2), innegra is a composite known for its features of being impact resistant and durable.<\/p>\n

The uniqueness of this cloth is that it is a 4oz high clear fiberglass used in conjunction with offset gradient innegra tow infused into the weave. The offset pattern starts out tight through the center and tapers off as you reach the rail. This setup gives some added compression strength along the stringer (where you are mostly planting your foot) but the main purpose is to help control both nose-to-tail torsional flex as well as aid in dampening the chatter feel commonly felt in EPS core boards.\u00a0 For an added aesthetic appearance, the i2 cloth features two single tow carbon fiber tracers that run along the center of the board.<\/p>\n

We have found that our EPS boards benefit the most from the i2 Technology as it does add a level of longitudinal (nose to tail) flex attributes as well as control some torsional flex with the offset pattern of the cloth.\u00a0 With the 4oz weight of the cloth, the boards stay light and lively in the water giving the board an ultra-responsive feel.<\/p>\n

We are excited to add this option to our PU and EPS board construction. At the time, Black Atlantic was one of the first brands on the market to offer this type of cloth on surfboards. While the availability of this cloth has become easier to obtain nowadays, you can rest assured Black Atlantic Surfboards was at the forefront of putting it on our boards WELL BEFORE other board companies claimed it.<\/strong><\/p>\n
