Flexion EPS Core Technology<\/h4>\n

Introducing our exclusive Flexion EPS Core Technology, now available on all of our shortboard models! Designed with a mixture of innovative quality materials and a focus on high-performance surfing, our line of epoxy core boards is unmatched in both construction technology and rider dynamic. Flexion Technology offers the ultimate in speed, drive, and flex response.<\/p>\n

The key to the outstanding performance of the Flexion Technology boards lies within the combination of materials used during construction.\u00a0 For the core of our boards, we use an EPS – Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) – foam core that utilizes a high-density foam stringer. For the bottom lamination and wrapping around the rails, we use a unique composite diamond ply material that has very high strength properties and a high impact resistance. This setup helps minimize torsional twist and gives a balanced flex from nose to tail with still remaining strong.\u00a0 The deck lamination consists of a bi-axial cloth, carbon fiber tail patches, and center carbon tape further adding to the overall strength of the board.<\/p>\n

Our structural design with Flexion Technology allows the board to have a balanced, light, and strong construction without giving up crucial flex which gives a surfboard a responsive and lively feel in the water.<\/p>\n

Black Atlantic Surfboards is currently the only manufacturer in full production with this unique material and construction technique.<\/p>\n

We add a high-density foam stringer to our blank retaining a nose-to-tail flex familiar to that of a standard PU core board which helps eliminate the EPS chatter feeling that non-stringered blanks are notorious for.<\/p>\n

The lamination schedule consists of a combination of woven and bi-axial cloth along with composite materials.\u00a0\u00a0This is all combined with high quality epoxy resin that has a superior life span in both flexural properties and high UV resistance.<\/p>\n

All boards built with Flexion Technology will come standard with our signature black-painted stringer and rail bands.
